As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be part of CGI’s software development team focused on building scalable, reliable Java-based applications. The role is ideal for recent engineering graduates passionate about backend and full-stack development, with a strong foundation in Java, web technologies, and modern SDLC practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web-based applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Assist in debugging and resolving technical issues reported by the QA or client.
  • Support Agile development practices and participate in sprint ceremonies.
  • Document development activities and maintain code versioning using tools like Git.

Skills Required:

Technical Skills:

  • Core Java & J2EE
  • JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including DOJO)
  • Familiarity with JAXP (Java API for XML Processing)
  • Good understanding of web development and UI design principles
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and SDLC concepts
